Outstanding International Research exhibition at International CAE Conference
For the fifth year in a row, the International Research has been a key protagonist at the International CAE Conference. The Research Agorà was jammed with outstanding European consortia bringing and showing their cutting-edge research results. The whole conference community was interested by the new frontiers envisaged for High Performing Computing especially in the usage of intensive parallel programs for industry. Exascale is now a a matter of fact thanks to new designed and tested Interconnection Networks, Storage, and Cooling systems.
The Robot who won the Mohamed Bin Zayed International Robotics Challenge freely navigated inside the Agorà, operating valve stems by wrenchs available in panels.
In the energy field, innovative thermal energy storage systems based on new thermochemical materials and panels for buildings with excellent insulation properties have been patented and were presented.
One last example of the high potential of the European Research was represented by the Additive Manufacturing Technology applied to automotive components, supported by CAE tools able to automatically suggest new shapes.
Stay tuned on Research Agorà to discover next International Research discovers.
AmbliFibre will ensure an efficient, reliable, flexible and cost-effective production of tubular components made of fibre-reinforced plastic composites (FRP) by developing and validating the first intelligent model-based laser-assisted tape winding system for the manufacturing of these advanced products.

RUR53 is the Unmanned mobile manipulator robot developed by the University of Padova (Italy) for the first Mohamed Bin Zayed International Robotics Challenge. The robot is able to freely navigate inside an outdoor arena; locate and reach a panel; recognize and manipulate a wrench; use this wrench to physically operate a valve stem on the panel itself.

Despite the clear advantages of Additive Manufacture, current design tools have been developed for traditional manufacturing procedures and are not flexible enough. This limits the potential of 3D printing. CAE tools are able to suggest new shapes and accurately predict the behavior of components making them a natural choice in the design chain.
